im planning on changing my brakes and shocks to something that comes with a lifetime warrenty and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as too what brands to go with? i know Monroe has lifetime shocks but is there something else out there thats better? id like a pretty stiff ride compared to now with the factory shocks where you seem to lean all over the place when cornering a little to quick. the shocks i have in there now are pretty new, maybe installed in the last year or so and they're not leaking so they're not pooched by any means, just want to upgrade to something i wont ever have to worry about again unless im swapping in some new ones. thanx!

As for shocks, I would go with the Sensa-Trak, Load Adjuster shocks (coil over type shock) Life-time warranty and they are less than $100 for a pair

NAPA offers the Ultra Premium brake pads, which are Lifetime Warranty, and they are phenomenal pads. I use the "Severe Duty" Ultra Premium pads on my personal cars and on my two delivery trucks here. There is also a Ceramic version of the Ultra Premium pad for a few dollars more.

UP# UP-7070A-X $75.49
UP# UP-7070A-SD $68.99

Keep in mind with the "Lifetime Warranty" brake pads .... this does not cover the normal wear of a brake pad (obviously a brake pad isn't going to last forever) ... nor does it cover if you have uneven wear on the pad (its not a faulty pad, its your caliper) ... nor does it cover brake pad dust (brake pads will dust)

The "Lifetime Warranty" covers manufacture defects and any brake pad noise

i personally like the bendix ceramic pads have used them for years never had a issue with them

what would the lifetime warrenty on shocks be? the streets where i live are have a million potholes and bumps so i'll need something that can stand up and i dont have to worry about. i figured "lifetime" warrenty on pads would mean they're so good you probaly wont own the car long anough to need a new set lol

For shocks, I prefer a high-pressure shock...Monroe does not manufacture high pressure shocks.

My 2 cents....buy quality, not lifetime warranty. My beef with lifetime warranty stuff is it's usually private label/house brand, and made as cheaply as possible (but not ALWAYS). How much free labor you want to invest changing parts time and again?

I've had really good experiences with KYB gas-a-just shocks...and they're not horribly expensive.

I just picked up a set of Edelbrock front shocks for 44.83 ea compared to the 79 bucks before, they are on sale through Summit. I already had the rears already, too bad Edelbrock sold there suspension line to another company.. Hopefully they last a while compared to the Monroe's that were on my GP. As for brake pads the i agree with Ritter with the ultra premium ceramic ones are pretty good.

Unfortunately, I've heard they don't last long at all. Bilstein's are supposed to be just as good ( which is to say a very nice shock ) but they will last alot longer.

Personally, I'd go with Bilstein's. They are a known quality shock and I THINK they're lifetime warranty ( or at least a limited lifetime warranty ).

I have bilstiens on my Buick. Bilstiens on the truck as well. The ones on the truck were still good when I changed them out @ 100k miles. So ill be sticking with them

if i got a 100,000k out of any part id be more than happy to swallow the cost and just replace it 🙂 sounds like thats the brand im going to look into. thanx for the advice guys i'll fill ya in when its all complete.
