im about to go to the auto parts store and grab some stuff.. what spark pluggs are best to use in my 74 350 rocket.. shoul i got with OE plugs? or spend a little extra and get something better?

If it is stock or very close to it I would stick with a standard AC Delco plug for that engine, anything performance oriented I use NGK spark plugs so I can play with different heat ranges and projected or non-projected tips etc.

its got a comp cams cam kit .. roller tip rocker arms ....basically valve train work

I've always ran autolites & never had a problem. I'm sure NGK is fine, I've just never tried them. I would think you'd be fine with Stock replacement plugs.

Autolite's for sure 8)

I use NGK V-power plugs. I've been very happy with them. I'm sure you'd be fine with AC Delcos.

I like NGK plugs, I tried some of those 'sooper dooper' +4 (I think they are called) with 4 ground electrodes and they sucked! I lost power! I went back to a single V and with my CD Mallory ignition it runs great! (Beware of those gimmick spark plugs) they are just that, gimmicks!

In my truck and my commuter car I got the E3 plugs. The run good. The truck got 2-3mpg more. Haven't noticed a difference in the commuter. I got about 125k on the ones in my truck. I just put the NGK V power in the cutlass. They seem good so far. I only have a couple hundred miles on them.

Personally I use ACdelco on my GM's- Always had good luck that way. I went thoguh a period of time trying Accel Header plugs, Bosck plugs, Autolites, and I have never had such a consistent running engine as when I used AC Delco plugs. You can still mess with heat range and tip style if you can find they charts with thread pitch, heat range, and tip style online.
