white valves ?

so i got a chevy 350 tbi in my work van and i was changing exhauast manifolds when i looked in the ports the ehaust valves are bright white. the motor has been hesitating and kinda lugging one the top end .is this normal or am i looking at replacing the heads? all exhaust valves on both side of motor are all white and have no deposit build up on them. like i said is this normal or something to worry about ?
 
Normal, this is what a coolant leak in one cylinder looks like, on the left this was from my 2004 impala with a 3.4 btw:

What he^^^ said. You should be more concerned if they arent lighter than the intake.
