Looking to purchase a 1978 Malibu but have an 8 second Pontiac motor to put into it. I want to know what year/car from a Pontiac will fit the Malibu so I can make it a Pontiac or "PONTIBU", anybody ever done or seen this done before?

I would say a clip from a 78-81 LeMans or a 82-86 Bonneville should do the job. Also to complete the look, I'd try to locate a 78-81 lemans rear bumper and swap in a set of 81-83 Bu taillights.

ahhhh good idea. Don't like the bonneville front ends too much, but I like the Lemans and Grand Am front ends so I will post in the wanted forum to see if any members have a clip and bumpers and tail lights

I guess you don't care that the fender lines don't match where they meet up with the doors??

Yes I do!! Will the fenders of a grand am or lemans math? I know the Grand Prix won't

Actually I believe the LeMans/Grand am clip should line up with the doors okay. Pontiac actually built a Grand Am/El Camino hybrid and the elco's doors lined up fine with the Grand Am doghouse.

There is a pic on this website somewhere, but I'm not sure whose album it's in.
