Will a TCI built TH200-4R handle 600 lbs. torque @3200 RPMs?

I’ve got a couple of projects I’m planning, one of those projects involves mating a Grand National’s 200-4R with a mild Cadillac 500. In stock trim the engine makes 550 lbs. torque @ 3,000 (flywheel HP) and depending on the cam I choose for rebuild, it will make 575 lb. torque or 600 lb. torque. The combo will wind up in a C4 Vette 😀
I know it’s not a Buick project, but no one knows the transmissions like you guys do.

On a second project, the same type engine will be mated to a TH325-4L (the FWD version of the TH200-4R. Does anyone know who can build that 325 to 200 turbo strength?

Thanks in advance,
Cody

Yeah, I'd like to know too. And could you build a TH200c the same way?

Depends what you mean by well built . . . but in general, if the builder knows what he is doing and the right parts are involved, then YES. Just do a google search and you'll see some good builds. My 383 has close to 550 ft/lbs and beats the TH200-4R into submission with no problem.

As for the 200c, No way! To many plastic internals, among other issues.

Has anyone had experience with one built by TCI? JEGs has one listed for the turbo Buick for $1500. That is about the price of a stock build locally, so if the TCI unit is good enough - its a bargan. I have seen builders online who want $3000 - $3500 for their 200 trannys.

I have a TCI TH350 that I am very happy with, but I have read about people having issues with the TCI overdrive transmissions in the past. See if you can talk to people who are using the TCI 200 before you buy one.
