Will this Monte SS trim fit on El Camino?

The front end of this 86 El Camino just looks like something is missing under the bumper. I know the air dam under the radiator core is off, but I'm thinking more of something across from fender to fender.

Has anyone put the front lower spoiler off a Monte Carlo SS under an El Camino Chrome bumper? Did it look good or just look wrong?

I wasn't picturing it mounted flush with the front edge of the bumper, but set back under the front like an air dam would be. The front fenders hang down lower than the bumper and just looks like something is missing to me.

I'm also looking for the original 86 El Camino door mirrors if anyone knows of a source, Thanks.

I found this picture after posting this topic.

What option package did this come with? Not sure if I've seen an El Camino with this before.

Not sure if I would like it without the chrome body trim to help distract from were it stops on the front fender.

I think I like the Monte air dam better. Not quite as agressive looking.

That was an earlier EC SS option (from like '80 or something) They fit on Malibu's as well. Dunno if the Monte one would fit or not, probably not as it would connect up to the plastic nose/bumper cover instead of hooking up underneath the bumper like that one....

If you look at a MCSS the bumper/nose comes down lower on the sides and in the front where the spoiler meets it. Looks like it's wider in the front there also.

The Monte air dam will probably not fit the Elky. At one point you could buy an El Camino SS which had a nosepiece that looked like a Monte SS nosepiece. In actuality, the Monte SS nose is approximately 1 3/4" wider than the El Camino SS nose, so the Monte SS air dam will probably be too wide to fit the El Camino. You could try checking the Lauren Engineering website. They carry several different styles of front end treatments for Malibus and El Caminos. There might be something there that you would find useful.

There's this one (The choo-choo car from '87)

and the earlier ECSS...(from '78 not '80!)

Lauren Engineering (www.laureneng.com) has ground effects kits and air dams and every plastic doo-hickey you could ever want for a G body.
