i rolled the window all the way down and went to roll it back up a few minutes later and nothing happened....the passengers window is working fine but the drivers wont roll up for nothing...the window was rolling up and down fine before this...what could the problem be...all help greatly appreciated

Three things I can think of:
Bad motor
Bad switch
Bad wiring

I would probably start with the motor. Take a test light and see if you are getting power and ground at the motor. If you are, unplug it and hook up a set of jumper wires to it. Hook that up to a drill battery. The motor will go up with power and ground hooked up one way and down if you reverse the wires.

would the motor be fine one minute then just go out ???

Yep, I'ver actually smacked the door panel with my hand and got them to work again. It's usually temporary, though, and you have to replace it....if that's the issue. I have also seen broken wires and bad switches. I say to start at the motor because it's pretty easy to take off the door panel and you will probably have to take it off anyways. Also, the motor is easy to check.
