It sounds like what you're looking for is the plastic profile stripping under the metal quarter window trim. It's pretty much the same as the windshield stripping, However, the way it's sold is generally enough for the windshield trim....or if you can find a few junkyard B-body cars of the '70's-'80's and pop the windshield trims and slide the plastic stripping out. It's a crapshoot as to what condition they'll be in. Many times they're dried out and deteriorated. Thanks I seen dixie has it for the windshield. Wondered if that would work. I'm g gonna buy new.

It should work fine. You have to figure enough to do both quarter window trims, which means having to buy about 4- windshield trim kits.
