the other day i changed my spark plugs and fuel filter and somehow either bumped something or broke it cause all of a sudden my temp gauge isnt working. can anyone shead any light on what i could've hit? theres a wire that goes from a clip on top of my thermostat housing to the 2-wire plug that goes on top on the carb. (4-barrel roch) could that have anything to do with it? what does that wire do? where would the temp sensor be on a sbc 305? thx!

Don't know what wire your talkin about. The temp sensor is in the left head (driver side) in between the two front plugs, you prolly just knocked the wire off.

thats exactly what it was. thanx again man!! the other wire im refering to is basically one of the two wires that comes of the clip on top of the carb and goes to a single blue clip thats on top of the thermostat housing. just curious what it is now. ill take a pic in a bit and show yah.

turns out i was referring to the mixure control solenoid. it has a wire coming from the harness and then another one that goes to a clip on the top of the thermostat housing..from the minimal amount of info i could find on it, its some sort of variable ground so the MCS can cycle. either way i tested mine and it seems fine so i guess thats not whats causing my problem. thanx again!
