I'm not to familiar with rearends and have been reading around bout them. I remember somebody posting something about fangs hanging down or it being square on the posi. So I go outside to check not really thinking to find anything and guess what I saw.

If I am correct on this being posi is it the 7.5 or 8.5. Funny thing is I think the rearend has never been changed. Has front sway bar but no rear.

If that's the case, I have a posi on a 7.5 as well. But, I think the fangs indicate something else. 😉

All cars will have a front sway bar.

The 'fangs' or 'squared' edges refer to the difference between the 7.5" and the 8.5".
Yours features a nice set of fangs, so that's your standard 7.5".
A good way to spot a posi is a small, rectangular aluminum tag that will read "Use limited slip diff fluid only" attached on one of the cover bolts. It doesn't appear as though your car has one.
Easy way to check is when both rear tires are off the ground, spin one of them. If the other tire goes the same way you're spinning the one, it's a posi. If it goes it opposite way, it's an open rear.

well that killed my joy. its open rear. I changed my shock earlier and was doing that. The driver side spinned in the opposite direction.

yup.. my old car had the tag as well... which i thought would have been long gone..

here's an 8/5 in a 442 in a field... take note of the square edge and no sign of "fangs"...
