Hmph. The USPS idiot thread got me to thinking...it's time to yell at some clouds.

Lately, in general, people have been VERY disappointing in services in which those folks supposedly make a living. Unfortunately, the few good ones are buried in a sea of dumbazzes.

USPS- can't find their azz with a funnel. Most of the ones I deal with personally leave me with the impression they are rather lazy and DGAF. Granted, they have a lot of letters and merch to move. But they've had a couple hundred years to perfect it, no? I mean, that's your ONLY JOB! The recent stupidity seems to be growing like an infection. We NEED it, or something resembling it, but they seem to suck so bad at it, if I had my way, there'd be a lot of unemployed azz hats about now. Raising prices and then a declaration they're slowing down deliveries...intentionally. Really? Making something suck more than it already does and charge more for it. Smooth move. And FedEx, DHL, UPS, et al, aren't much better. At least they make the UPS guys wear a uniform.

Government entities- not enough time in the world left to list even half of what's wrong with that picture.

Service writers at most of these car dealerships- For one, they seem to go through them like I change underwear, once per month. 🙂 But they don't know sh*t, don't recall sh*t not two days later, and then they're never ever right on an estimation of repair times. Not off by an hour or so, but by SEVERAL hours or even days.

Had a minor heart check prodcedure done in September. The morning of, I go to check in, and I get surprised by a nearly $4000 co-pay I have to pay right now. WTF? Why didn't someone call me before and give me a heads up? I tried to show them my insurance card because my max out of pocket for the year was already met and I should pay nothing out of pocket here. Doesn't matter. Pay or go home. But they said, we have your insurance info. We argued a bit about it, but then I thought it was a simple fix (NEVER think that at a hospital), so I paid it on the spot. Afterwards, after I got the EOB from the insurance company, the amount I owed was $0.00, and then found out the hospital billed me as a "self pay", yet had an insurance company (not mine) listed as my insurance company on the receipt. Trying to get my money back was like trying to pull a tooth from a pizzed off tiger. Finally, the refund is expected in the mail today, per USPS Informed Delivery. So the dog ain't out of the woods just yet...but almost. After 4.5 months. So if they ever tell you to pay money that you don't think you owe, or is vastly different than the estimate should be, just get up and go home. I'm not going to do that again.

Company reps that says they'll call you back at a certain time/date and then don't- really? I've run into a rash of that lately. Here's a good example. While yipping to the hospital billing department about why someone there didn't call me back two days after they said they would and after leaving messages for them to do so, they told me I could talk to a patient advocate. When I called the advocate phone number, we discussed all the issues. The advocate says they'd contact the supervisor and call me back that afternoon. Guess who didn't call me back when they said they would? WTF people? Must've got the same training the billing department got on answering phone calls.

Servers at restaurants- With a few outside exceptions, the service has simply just evaporated. I don't need my butt wiped all the time, but an iced tea refill every now and again might help me choke down this piece of meatloaf. If you're looking for tips, I am NOT the guy for automatic tipping. You keep that iced tea level from hitting bottom for less than 5 minutes, or bring the grape jelly I asked for in a reasonable time, you're getting a good tip. You go above and beyond, you are probably pushing a 30% tip. But if you forget junk, or simply never come back, I'll simply "forget" to leave a tip. Because you get what you earn. I guage it with what I perceive as workload. If it's busy, there's concessions. But if you've got two tables and I never see you again until you bring a bill? (this has happened) Well, you know...

I can't even start in on the box store auto parts store. They're such a let down. Admittedly, I don't buy many aftermarket parts, but I do get stuff like sealers, oil, coolant, rubber plugs, junk like that. They SUCK so bad...I used to like going into NAPA and talking it up with the counter guys. They had cars and worked on them themselves. Nowadays? Nah. Pretty sad.

I can go on. If people would just DO what their job descriptions say they should be doing, everything would be much better. And if you rely on tips, don't assume I'm going to leave one if I think your service sucked. Especially if I have to drive and come pick up a to-go order or get it from behind the counter. You should be tipping me.

Ok, clouds. I'm done. For now.
