Gonna be breaking in a fresh bullitt soon. anyone use zddp additive in the break in oil it is a 355 hydralic cam (comp w matching lifters) als oanyone use 15-40 delo oil??
thanks cheers.

I don't use an additive. I just use a break in oil. Joe gibbs or brad penn break in oil are pretty good. There are a few quality other oils as well. Follow your cam manufacturers directions on break in. And follow them to the letter. As far as what oil to use after break in. I have heard good things about Valvoline VR1 oils. I use castrol, valvoline, havoline, whatever as long as I add a little bit of an additive to it. The VR1 is supposed to be good to go without an additive.

I use VR1 exclusively on my flat tappet cars. I like that it has the proper amount of zinc as part of the original formulation, as opposed to just pouring something in. I've never broken an engine in that I had built myself, but I have heard good things about the Gibbs break-in oil.
