Just trying to figure out how to set the kickdown linkage on carb , new built trans checked 3 ,4 times to make sure it was put in right to the block , 2,200 stall converter but im not getting much hook up with it not sure what im doing wrong , not my first trans install but my first 350 trans .

What Carb you using? ie: Holley, Edelbrock, Quadrajet?? i'm asking cuz when i swapped over to my old Edelbrock i had to get the 2004r specific brackets and geometry corrector for the trans to work right.

I'm having the same issue with mine. Have a new TH350, Edelbrock carb, and Edelbrock throttle/kickdown bracket. But it doesn't line up at all.

I think the geometry correctors are just for 200r4s and 700r4s, but I could be wrong.

The adjustmeny on a th350 is not crutial. Hell i run my cable unhooked all together i just shift it manually. If to loose trans will shift real quick if to tight will hold gears a little longer and down shift quicker. Dont be scared to play with it. It will not damage trans why you play.

I ran my old th350 thinking it was bad for a long time till i found out the kickdown cable was bad of course after i pulled and replaced it with the 2004r out of a Olds Delta 88 :|

Running a 625 carter comp. carb.not sure actually about the bracket thanks ill check into it

I think the correct Edelbrock bracket is the part number 8036. The Edel is based off the Carter IIRC..

All I can sat is that I'm using Edelbrock 8031:

And it's not working for me:

Kickdown doesn't line up at all. But my problem might be a case of the wrong cable?

Doesn't look like it's too far off.

That's throttle closed, and the cable pushed all the way in. At WOT the little ball doesn't even hit the end of the slot (obn the cable end). So it doesn't even move the cable. But I'm thinking if I remove that plastic sleeve it may work.

What you need to do is put ball in slot take the screw out of the brass adjuster put the screw through slot screw it back into brass piece slide brass piece towards ball on cable it not perminant in that spot it slides once screw is loose adjust and tighten screw. At this point ball will contact the brass adjuster and pull the cable. It will take some tweaking but thats how it works. Thats a uneversal cable.
