At idle? Closed.
Can you see where the butterfly sits in the transfer slot? I'm guessing you have enough idle RPM too?

It is hard to tell, but here is a pic of it while running. I do have enough idle rpm. I think some of the slot may be exposed under the butterfly, maybe. Can you see where the butterfly sits in the transfer slot? I'm guessing you have enough idle RPM too?

Thoughts on Edelbrock 1405? 600 cfm Manual Choke. I like manual choke. My biggest fear is having the same issue after dropping all the coin.Reduce air flow. Swap out 750 to 600 Carb.
Basically the same. The 1406 is electric choke. Other than that they are both identical.Thoughts on Edelbrock 1405? 600 cfm Manual Choke. I like manual choke. My biggest fear is having the same issue after dropping all the coin.
I dont have all this data. But its a 96 LT1 from a Z28 stock aluminum head motor. Casting # 10207643. Apparently vette and z28 had same heads this year. Lots of conflicting info online for specs. Here’s a pic of the pistons and heads. It was stock, untouched. So standard size pistons. I went with 1-5/8 long tubesLater tonight I'll go through your cam data. Your at 35 BTDC intake opening. I wouldn't push too much past that, so 1.6 on rockers would be wrong move.
Do you remember the piston data? Were they flat 4 relief, 2 relief or no relief, small dome?
Diameter? Standard, 30+, or other?
Compression height?
Gasket crush? Most are around .034 or so.
Chamber CC of the head. Do you have the head data?
Which headers? 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 or other?
