I was thinking of stroking the 350 using chevy rods and offset grind on the crank. Try to keep compression around 10-1 so I can still run pump gas. I have a set of 7 heads with 2.07 int and 1.68 ex that have been ported And flow well. Plus I have a NOS Cheater setup lying around that needs a...
With in the last month and half I found two 86 442's. the first is a t-to car with no motor and a pretty straight body for $1300 bucks. I knew of another g-body olds I had my eye on for about a year and had offered $1500 for it last year It had the 442 stripe kit but just didn't know about it...
What are you using for the crossmember? One out of the early 70's GM with the dual humps when cut down will fit for dual exhaust. Thats what I used for an 83 Olds I had with a 350 Olds and dual exhaust.
It doesn't really matter what heads are on the motor. A cam if well picked with a manifold will benefit your 350. Some heads are better than others though. I'm runnning a set of 7's on my stock 350 Olds with an Edelbrock performer cam and manifold that seems to run well on E85 and a tone of timing.
Cool project. You will need an adapter plate to mate a BOP trans to a Chevy. Jegs p/n 555-60170 55 bucks.
I have a friend that had a 385 stroker in a 78 with the BOP trans.
Thanks Guys.
Its been quite a month. I bought the first 86 442 without the engine, then ended up with the second while looking for parts. So now I'm looking for one for both cars. Both cars have solid floors and pretty solid bodies accept for the newest that has some quarter panel damage but...
Hi new to the forum and was woundering if any body was located around south central Kansas. Always looking for parts since I seem to have picked up a couple of 86 442's that need some work.
