I say cut and weld new metal, its the best fix.

That is exactly what I used and it fit ok, but was still to far forward so I had to modify the spring pad on axle.

Re: installing Dorman gas tank in Malibu-filler neck out of No need for a pipe, Ive used my extra large vise grips (bare hands) to bend the filler down and call it a day.

If you have to cut the frame in any way just to fit 24 inch rims then its not worth it because youll have a car with an appearance youll like but will suffer with driveability issues. Make sure you spray the exhaust manifold bolts very good with pb blaster because they like to break. I would replace them with new ones, good luck with your rebuild.
