I know this isn’t a g-body but I’m selling my 1978 Delta 88 Holiday coupe. The Holiday 88 package was available on the base Delta 88s (not the 88 Royale) from 1978-80. The package consisted of bucket seats, console, sport steering wheel, and sport mirrors in the full-sized Delta. All Delta 88’s had a bench seat except those with the Holiday 88 package (Y78). They basically took the interior out of the Cutlass and put it in the Delta 88 to give it a sporty feel. This car was special-ordered by the original owner back in 1978. He opted for the Holiday 88 package, the biggest motor available at the time (403 V8), and the trailer towing package to get the 3.23 gears. It has the HD cooling and HD brakes as part of the options. It doesn’t have A/C! The car wasn’t ordered with it. This is the only Delta 88 I’ve ever come across without A/C. The car is blue with a light blue cloth interior. It has PW, PL, rear window defogger, AM/FM stereo radio. The car has only 51K miles and is original. The paint is good but not perfect, along with the interior. The chrome is in excellent condition. The tires are dated 2616 and have 10K miles on them. The plastic is still on the rear seat from when the original owner first took delivery. The only things that have been changed are as follows: headliner replaced, new master cylinder and one rear brake cylinder, valve cover gaskets, tune-up, rear shocks. I’ve added a rear sway bar for better handling. I installed a Sun Pro mini tach that is not permanently mounted and can easily be removed. I wanted to keep tabs on the RPMs, which is about 2800 at 65 mph on the highway with the 3.23s. Mileage is about 10 mpg city/ 16 highway. The car floats down the road and is a pleasure to drive. I’ve owned it for 5+ years now and have added 10K miles to it going to car shows and cruise-ins. It never goes out in the rain or inclement weather and is always under a cover when in the garage. I’m selling because I just found a 1977 Delta 88 pace car that I’ve purchased and it’s on the way here. I have a 2-car garage and will now have 3 cars. I also have a 1979 Hurst/Olds but am unwilling to let it go. I’ve owned it for 27 years now and there are lots of memories attached to it. This is a good opportunity for those who might want something a little larger than a Cutlass with a bigger motor from the factory. Most of the Deltas came with the 350.
Asking $9500 / BRO.
I have taken about 60 pictures of the car so I can provide more if necessary.
The car is located in Leominster, Mass.
