I know this isn’t a g-body but I’m selling my 1978 Delta 88 Holiday coupe. The Holiday 88 package was available on the base Delta 88s (not the 88 Royale) from 1978-80. The package consisted of bucket seats, console, sport steering wheel, and sport mirrors in the full-sized Delta. All Delta 88’s had a bench seat except those with the Holiday 88 package (Y78). They basically took the interior out of the Cutlass and put it in the Delta 88 to give it a sporty feel. This car was special-ordered by the original owner back in 1978. He opted for the Holiday 88 package, the biggest motor available at the time (403 V8), and the trailer towing package to get the 3.23 gears. It has the HD cooling and HD brakes as part of the options. It doesn’t have A/C! The car wasn’t ordered with it. This is the only Delta 88 I’ve ever come across without A/C. The car is blue with a light blue cloth interior. It has PW, PL, rear window defogger, AM/FM stereo radio. The car has only 51K miles and is original. The paint is good but not perfect, along with the interior. The chrome is in excellent condition. The tires are dated 2616 and have 10K miles on them. The plastic is still on the rear seat from when the original owner first took delivery. The only things that have been changed are as follows: headliner replaced, new master cylinder and one rear brake cylinder, valve cover gaskets, tune-up, rear shocks. I’ve added a rear sway bar for better handling. I installed a Sun Pro mini tach that is not permanently mounted and can easily be removed. I wanted to keep tabs on the RPMs, which is about 2800 at 65 mph on the highway with the 3.23s. Mileage is about 10 mpg city/ 16 highway. The car floats down the road and is a pleasure to drive. I’ve owned it for 5+ years now and have added 10K miles to it going to car shows and cruise-ins. It never goes out in the rain or inclement weather and is always under a cover when in the garage. I’m selling because I just found a 1977 Delta 88 pace car that I’ve purchased and it’s on the way here. I have a 2-car garage and will now have 3 cars. I also have a 1979 Hurst/Olds but am unwilling to let it go. I’ve owned it for 27 years now and there are lots of memories attached to it. This is a good opportunity for those who might want something a little larger than a Cutlass with a bigger motor from the factory. Most of the Deltas came with the 350.
Asking $9500 / BRO.
I have taken about 60 pictures of the car so I can provide more if necessary.
The car is located in Leominster, Mass.

That 403 looks mighty small under the hood without the A/C and all its components!

Gorgeous car, except the dam vinyl roof. Most seem to be optioned with the 350 and shitty gearing. Good luck luck on your sale.

Most of these cars did come with the 350. The 403 was a $340 option in 1978. 2.41 was the standard gear set. The 3.23s were as deep as you could go from the factory. This car has the 8.5 inch rear end (Buick built) with the larger 11 inch rear drum brakes instead of the 9.5 inch drums. Plus, it has the half inch wheel studs and the 5 x 5 inch bolt pattern. The 3.23s (and 3.08s) were designated as towing gears so you got all the HD equipment including the Y72 HD cooling. According to the factory literature, this car has a towing capability up to 6,000 lbs. The original owner never towed with this car so I don't know why he wanted the 3.23s. Also, he got the 3.23s but didn't spend the extra $60 to get the limited slip.

51K actual miles. Very clean and solid underneath. No issues. GM B-bodies had the axle identification on a tag instead of stamped into the axle tube. This tag shows the 3.23, code KG, and build info for the rear end. This is a 3.23 open rear end. If it had limited slip the posi tag would be in the 5 o’clock position.

I forgot to mention that there's a Youtube video of the car I made when I first purchased it. Search for 1978 Delta 88 Holiday coupe and the author is Mary Cafarella. It's about 8 minutes long. I have done several things to the car since the video was made. New headliner, rear sway bar, new master cylinder, Sun Pro mini tach (that isn't permanently attached to anything and will be removed before sale of car), new repro (ill-fitting) rear outer bumper fillers, new air intake hose from air cleaner to fender intake.
