    Heater Core Replacement

That bottom clip almost has me beat, I have what looks like two tabs at the bottom. Do I push those down? I have been trying but no luck, is there a special trick?

    Heater Core Replacement

Hey Guys, I am in the middle of changing my heater core on my 81' malibu without air. The old one leaks, wont hold 5 psi with from a pressure test. Long story short, I have the old one exposed, the one clamp screw off and ground clamp, but it seems like I'm missing a screw somewhere. It wiggles...

    Gauge cluster swap

Hey Guys, I have been offered a gauge cluster from an 85 monte carlo column shift. I have an 81 malibu column shift and I am wondering how difficult the switch is, not from a "will it fit?" but more is the harness the same? My malibu has just the idiot lights (Right), and the monte carlo has...

    2004R swap Column shift question

No, I have detents in the column as well. I know the detent is in the trans, but the column has preset detents to where it thinks the shifter will be. It's not like the trucks where they rely on the trans detent.

    2004R swap Column shift question

Really? No replies? Anyways swap complete, the linkage fits just fine. The column shifter travels through P-R-N-OD-D-2-1 without any modifications or issues.

    2004R swap Column shift question

I'm about a week away from swapping the 2004r in place of my TH350 into my 81 malibu . It's a column shift car and I want to keep it that way (Love the bench seat).I got the crossmember and frame extension, drive shaft etc. I am more concerned about the stock column shift linkage. Obviously I...

I've read up on the headers, looking at the hooker big block swap headers. Any experience? Can they be installed with the engine in?

where does ny fuel go ?

I had a bad fuel pump, and it would loose it's prime, all the fuel pumped up would bleed back into the tank. I would constantly have to pump up the line until i found the problem and changed the pump.

    Latest Find: Chevrolet 454

Thanks for the info, my 454 doesn't have provisions for a mechanical pump. So i'm going to be running an electric for sure. When I bought the car I did all new suspension parts at all four corners. I always new I'd put a rat in it so i went with Raybestos heavy duty front designed for big block...

    Latest Find: Chevrolet 454

I was in my local pick and pull and I stumbled upon this in a 1998 3/4 ton truck. I pulled it for a whopping $220+tax(too good to pass up). I plan on putting this in my malibu. It's a 1998 vortec 454, 4 bolt mains. Anyone have any experience with them in the g's? I plan on putting some kind of...

    Rear End in a junkyard

PERFECT! Thanks, thats exactly what i needed to know. I have built up my stock 7.5 with better gears, posi etc, I'm not doing drag racing, just a strong daily driver so the 7.5 will hold up just fine. I just wanted to make sure a prime axle wasn't going to slip by me.

    Rear End in a junkyard

I was walking my local U-pull-it yard here in town, and I stumbled upon a 93' caprice LTZ. It has a 8.5", posi (not gov-lock), and 3.23 gears. I looked underneath and its obvious the suspension mounts are totally different from the G-bodies. I can get the complete rear end for $75, is it worth...

    Torque Converter Lockup

I've still driving my stock TH350 in my 81' Malibu until I got the time to put my built 200R4 in, but around town I find the lock up converter is annoying in traffic. Has anyone added an auxiliary toggle switch along with the factory vacuum switch? Will this hurt anything? What i'm looking to do...

    Rear end bearing and seals

They shouldn't put up that much of a fight. All the ones I did, i threw in the freezer over night to shrink the races and with a brass drift I worked around the circumference of the race with a hammer and they walked in to place and they have worked great.
