    BUILD THREAD “The Juggernaut”

Thanks for that! Like you I haven't found much info on installing these. I believe the Celebrity lights are smaller in height than the Caprice? Reason I will be going with the Caprice is they fit the ElCo Header better as they are the same size as the Quads I will be removing. SO basically I...

Manual Brake Conversion on a 1980 El Camino

So it looks like the Blazer MC is P/n 18M974 which is a 1" bore. The MC that you tried according to your thread is P/n RAYBESTOS MC39328 which is a 1-1/8" bore, but was too big for your booster. So you went with at the end the 18M974?

Manual Brake Conversion on a 1980 El Camino

Thanks, Maybe the 82 wagon is a better way to go as I believe I have the larger booster. I’m sure the seville and LS1/C5 rear caliper pistons ave very similar in size. Yes, you need a minimum of 17” wheels for the LS1 or C5 rear discs brakes as the brake discs are 12” diameter.

Thanks! I changed that already. So I guess I just now need the larger 1" MC.

Manual Brake Conversion on a 1980 El Camino

Did those RHD Postal Trucks have rear disc brakes? Or do I need to remove some valve for a 4-wheel disc setup? Thanks, Dave

Manual Brake Conversion on a 1980 El Camino

I have a 1987 ElCo with C6/C5 Front Calipers and C5 Rear Calipers and am trying to find a 1" Master Cylinder that will bolt on for the factory Power Brake Booster. I know this thread is about manual brakes. I think the C5 or C6 Master Cylinder would work as it is for that system, and I believe...

How To: Camaro Rear Disc Brake Swap to G-body Axle

After not having an e-brake for 6 months after my rear disc conversion because I couldnt find a solution I liked I did this- Took the factory Camaro e-brake cable bracket and basically cut it in half and bolted that onto the lower control arms with the sway bar bolts. Cut the factory G-Body END...

How To: Camaro Rear Disc Brake Swap to G-body Axle

The calipers have to be rear mounted, as stated above the calipers will hit the frame in the forward position. What are most doing for e-brake brackets????

How To: Camaro Rear Disc Brake Swap to G-body Axle

Good write-up... Did you finish this? I am in the process of doing mine now... Has anyone mounted the calipers in the original position as the LS1, with the calipers in front of the axle???

F41 and aftermarket bracing diagrams (MORE pics added)

I was talking about the bolts at the front horns which do take a nut. The ones at the cross member are self tapped, it is a metric bolt. Thanks, Dave

The big hole in the frame is enough to put a nut back there. Mine is a F-41 car with this set-up from the factory. I used a longer bolt and a spacer to put the GP Brace on. By the way my car is a 87, Metric 12mm I think. Thanks, Dave
