Not sure if you covered this but stock the b body lt1 has steel boot protector fron the factory and the #7(I think) wire goes thru a tube on the side of the block to keep it from burning up

Seems like the best way to do it using mostly oem parts. I'm in NYC and finding someone competent to tune is somewhat of an issue.

I have an older v1 with the oil return and straight cut gears on a gen 2 lt1 in my 442. Has over 8,000 miles on it and beside being non intercooled it's a nice system. I'm using a tci tube and locking indicator. Only problem for me is that it curves forward over the valve cover, other than that it works as intended.
