    Electric fan shrouds

Kind of hard to see here but I run a Griffin 3 core with 1.25" tubes then I built my own shroud and mounted 2 fans off a mid 90s firebird to it , never gets hot even in 100° Nebraska weather. Switching to an electric water pump and bigger Spal fans now that I'm building a F2 Procharged 406 for it.

    Rear shock relocation

😂 Nope, just some extra bracing I added because of the frame notch

    Rear shock relocation

Here are some pics of mounts I made for mine, I made basically a "T" shaped bracket that stands the shock up a little straighter and moves the shock in away from my brakes and wheels since I had the rear end built 2" narrower to fit my current tire and rim combo. Also when I go to a coil over...

I don't remember for sure, but I believe I got the transmission lifted 3/4 of the way up and then stuck it in as I was lifting.

78 monte carlo 305 no heat

Coolant level could be low enough where it doesn’t get pumped to the heater core. If there is enough coolant in the system grab the heater core lines, if one is hot and the other is cold, then the core is plugged and needs changed out.

    Better Heads and Faster Trans

A lot depends on how much coin you want to drop too. 64cc head (whether Vortec or cheaper yet decent set of aluminum), overdrive trans with a 2000-2200 converter and 3.42-3.73 gears will make it feel like a different car. Highway RPMs will be down and will leave the hole a lot harderthan your...

    8.5" rear strength

As far as real world experience, here’s mine. I have a GN 8.5 in my SS with 3.73’s, Detroit Locker, Moser axles, rear cover with cap supports, and axle tubes welded to the center section. I’ve had this rear in it for 15 years now with a 406 SBC that I keep hopping up. I drive it pretty hard and...

    2 cowl hood

I just ordered a Golden Star brand 4" cowl hood from Summit a couple of months back for my buddy's S-10. The quality and fit were actually really good, which we were questioning at first also because of the Chinese sounding name. The marks you see in the picture on the JEGS web site are likely...

    Spool or locker?

I run a 8.5 rear end with a Detroit Locker and Moser axles in my SS with a 200 shot on a 600hp 406 SBC and I have no worries on the rear end's strength. I have run a spool before on a previous street driven G body and it was a pain in the *ss. Like others have said I would definitely go with the...

    Backspacing on a 17x9 wheel

Thanks. I wish I would have done my frame notch first then ordered my wheels with another 1/2" BS so it would clear the outer wheel well lip with no clearance issues.

    Backspacing on a 17x9 wheel

I am running 17x9.5 rears with 5" BS on my SS with 285/40's. She is close but clears the frame, since I lowered her 2" the tires will actually rub the wheel well lip if you go through a big dip in the road fast and the rear springs compress quickly.

17" rims for the regal, questions !

I am running a stock width Grand National 8.5" rear end in my SS. The Centerline Daggers I run are 17"x9.5" rears with 5" of BS and 285/40r17 tires. I found that was the most backspace I could run in my car. Where the clearance got tight was on the edge of the tire where the frame begins to...
