Benefits of the 307 sbo is that most things will swap over to the 330-350. I would go with headers as mention, intake, carb, and cam. In regards to your trans and rear end what 3 speed do you have a th350? If you have a th350 I would throw a shift kit and put the gears mention before in the rear.
