It seems that the company that has been making these crappy distributors have changed the cap design so hopefully after years of consistently making defective parts they are getting it together. Hopefully.

In with the new.

In with the new and reassemble...

It took me a while to do anitially but I've done a few since then and if you get your parts in order and have the pcm tuned and ready to go I could do one in a long weekend.

I will say I bought my LT1 in pieces for 50$ so it took me a ling time to figure out what I had and what I didn't as well as finding the correct parts for the correct year at the local pick n pull. If you get a complete running motor from a car then it would be much much easier. plus I did the build on a budget and sometimes you have to wait around for the right deal to make your moves.

It's a very fun car to drive. If I had t-tops I'd probably never drive another car ever. I get a lot of good looks driving, and its a total sleeper car no one expects to haul *ss.

Haven't 1/4 miled her yet, I feel that's when I will start breaking parts. And I need a job before I can worry about dropping good money on my ride haha.

I do have the Sears point/ Infineon raceway and 1/8 mile strip over the bridge less than a half hour away. So you can trust I will be getting up there soon. The usually have a 30$ drag night every Wednesday but I think it doesn't start till late spring.

yea id be interested to see how that setup does at the strip, but it definitely looks like a good swap for these cars thats at least semi low-buck and is good for daily use.

Here is how I mounted the Z-28 power steering resiviour, I also mounted a charcoal canister from an SS Impala up there too.

Here is a shot of the in line fuel pump, I used the hard line to take it from the tank up to the fuel rail and used some low pressure fuel line for the return. I used a T fitting to bring the return in before the pump. No modifications were made to the tank.

This was shot before I put in the dual exhaust and after I put in the locker.

This was how the diff looked when I opened it up.

I picked up a locker out of an 84 trans am from the pick n pull for 30$.

It was surpising but I just put it in and the gears threw a near perfect pattern. Still have the stock 2.23 gears but I'm more of a cruiser not so much a racer. However I do like to burn the rubber off from time to time.
