Just bought a 79 Malibu tonight haven't had time to dig into it , but has loud noise coming from under the cAr at first glance sounds like a rod but the motor purrs when u get up close . Seller says that the flywheel has issues when u drive It the noise is gone its only at idle and when you rev it or give it a high idle with your foot it goes away ....... Haven't had time to dig in but I was afraid engine was bad originally. Any help would be greatly appreciated . It's. a 305 and I think 350 tran.
Oh also back fires when u get in it but the owner just put in new plugs I think the wires are off timing order
