Damn, you're up in that car!

I can't believe the lush vegetation in the scenery of the photo in the first post of the car in grey. You live in paradise. New Jersey looks so trampled-on by comparison.
Yeah haha, was just gonna be an A pillar replacement and a few patches but now it’s become a full resto before it gets juice. I live/work in Kuranda and Cairns. Grew up here, lived in a few cities in Oz and overseas but this is the place. Some crazy wildlife though. This is our resident cassowary, he stomped out a guy down the road last week 😂 IMG_6372.jpeg

Cheers, on the home stretch for bodywork, hopefully have it back together and in epoxy in the next month unless I do a rhd conversion. Then the fill/block routine begins 😓

Nothing much to report on this week, acid dipped the hood skin and support structure, drivers door skin and inner door. A few repairs on the inner door and skin where there were some stress cracks. They are some heavy doors so had some small brackets added to the structure to keep them solid and support the weight better. Added some metal to the rear quarters as well to hide the lower pinch wells and give the car a cleaner look. Passenger door skin has been removed too, might as well give it a dip as well and make sure there is no rust hiding in any seams on the car. IMG_6842.jpeg IMG_6860.jpeg IMG_6840.jpeg IMG_6863.jpeg

Front fenders off to acid dip today since we are already doing everything else. Just need to strip paint off the inside of the passenger door skin and inner structure and they can get dipped as well. Roof skin started going back together this week. Build car was heavily pitted from the landau roof on the front 3/4s, donor car had a 1/4 landau off a 78 put on at some stage. Unfortunately there are next to no G body’s in Australia so no full clean skins available. Only option has been to Frankenstein the good bits of the two roofs together. Rain gutters are all formed up and test fitted as well before they get joined to the roof skin once it is sitting right and not a wavy mess. IMG_4568.jpeg
