how are you guys getting in a locked glove compartment without the keys? I don’t have the original ignition keys nor the door keys. I changed the ignition keys.

Would you happen to have a picture of where I can find the temperature sensor and oil pressure sensor? I’m new to 3.8 L.

Temp sensor will be in the water jacket. Usually on intake manifold where water exits the head, or in the outlet at top of engine feeding the hot coolant to the radiator.

Oil pressure sensor will be in an oil passage. Usually side of block or top of block at the back of the block.

Screen shots are from RockAuto.Com. I used 1984 Buick 3.8 Liter (231 CID) V6.

I tried finding a decent readable diagram..., not much luck.

As far as the oil pressure sender, what I did find is that it should be passenger's side front of block near the oil filter. On the Buick 231, the oil pump is at the front of the passenger side of the block, below the cylinder and just behind the mounting for the oil filter.

As an example... On the Chevy 4.3 V6 and 305/350 V8 it is at the back of the block, to left of the distributor (drivers side) and at the top of the block.

Ok thank you I’ll be out there this weekend so I can pull the engine. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Also on my 81 CABALLERO 3.8 L V6 and I noticed the ignition wire from the fuse box labeled IGN on the fuse box was not connected to anything. Also a thick red wire that came from the engine bay into the interior and another wire the same way. So in other words I have 3 wires not hooked up. In the morning I’ll exactly what the engine bay wires are because I was labeling the wires as I was unhooking them from certain parts like the starter, distributor, alternator etc. I’m pulling the engine for a LS swap. My first time. Where does the ignition wire from the fuse box go? Thank you.
