HI all,

This will be my progress thread. I say progress cause there really wont be any major upgrades or big dollars spent. At least not now. This will hopefully keep me motivated on doing some work to the car.
So a little background. I got my first 85 in 2007 when i was 17 which was my daily driver. Spent a few dollars getting her running good. Fast forward to now, better job, a little better understanding of the car and community. Turns out, car had a lot of rust, so i parked it. Picked up another 85 V6 this passed August. Seems all original to me. RPO codes revealed it was part of a fleet, so it is in really good shape. Been working on that lately. Anyways, here are some pics.

No rips on the vinyl top

Pulled the motor and started the cleanup

Por-15 the front section of frame, core support, upper/lower arms.

New upper/lower Moog ball joints, ES upper/lower arm bushings.

I also have drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads from Powerstop. New Calipers, bearings and seals. I wanted to do the blazer brake upgrade as i have all the parts but i have fairly new tires on my 14inch supremes and i didnt have the money to buy new rims and tires. Once my tires go out,ill buy bigger rims and do the upgrade then.

Other little things ive done so far are just replace the driver window and the door locking mechanism(whatever its called) had to play with the handle and knob to open the door. Thats where im currently at. Have to pull the rear end out for the gray cutlass as i have rebuilt both drums, new shoes and fresh oil. I figure it'd be easier to swap the rears than having to redo it all. And this is where i currently am.
Slowly ill be putting her together.
Thanks for looking.

Its been quite some time since my last update or post. I came across some good deals lately, one that got me working on the cutlass again.
First I picked up this 85 442 about a month ago. Guy wanted $2000 but all said and done, i drove her home for $900. it had a SBC 350, 700 trans and a 8.5 3.73 gears. Also the 442 had an aluminum rear bumper support so now i have front and rear. :)
here she is.

On the way home wit my buddy hanging out lol.

The 442 was rotted out all over the place. needed floors, t-top were rotted. missing a t-top. QP were banged up as there was a ton of bondo. Long story short, i resold the 442 for $700 after stripping all the goods off of it. so i got a running drivetrain for $200. Couldnt be any happier.
heres a pic of the motor and the rear i pulled off the 442, nothing special

So onto my cutlass. I finished painting up the firewall and inner fenders. then went to drop the motor, trans and rear in. need to cut and fab the crossmember to get it to fit. all this happened within a week and needless to say, my driveway was a gbody party.

Lastly, i picked up this 81 Calais for $300. It had original spoke hub caps but i threw on he rallyes. Owner was sending it to the scrap yard so i saved it. got it to start but it wont stay on without giving it some gas. anyone have some input as to what it could be? id realy appreciate it. its a buick 231 with a dualjet. from this car, im taking out the trunk shocks.

Thanks. Slowly but surely. Few little things here and there before she's running. Haven't drove the cutlass since 2012. Glad i was able to drive the 442 for a while before I pulled the drive train and sold it. Missed driving the cutty. I got your pm, unfortunately I don't have the part your looking for. I'll keep am eye out if I do come across one though.

Not the best picture but almost done with my 350 swap. Having issues getting the shift linkage situated. Just need to get the brakes installed and bled, modify cross member for the 700, and shift linkage and shell be ready for a test drive.

Does anyone know which radiator hose to get with this belt setup I have? The current hose sits on top of the alternator and gets caught by the fins. Thanks
