I need to source door hinge bolts for my 86 Monte. I think I found the size. It should be M6 1.00x16 if someone could double check me please. I found some online and at lows and Home Depot. Are those good or is there a particular place that is best suited to source these from?

Don't believe their M6, M6-1.0 is the fine thread size used elsewhere on the car - such as holding shroud, and inner skirts.
Have a good supply of desert originals, but am not doing electronic payments at this time. You'd be better off, if ur in a hurry getting some Flanged head ones from O'reillys. There's three different M8 sizes, am not going to say which thread pitch it is without making sure am correct.

Hmmm. M10x1.5 x 30mm is the size. GM p/n 20308287. Discontinued from GM.

M10 x 1.5 x 33mm Class 9.8 is the closest dog point HWH I can find. They don't HAVE to be dog points, but it helps a ton when trying to start them in the holes. It's a Ford replacement part for N605920-S2, but essentially the same as the GM bolt, just a hair longer.

A better deal than Mike's Montes can be found at clips and fasteners, pack of 25 for 16 bucks. Mike's Montes wants 10 bucks for 6. :

According to the parts book (for Cutlass), F/D HGE to Body (M10 x 1.5 x 30). Unfortunately, they don't list a spec for the hinge to door.

But the part number is 8750275, which looks like this:

Seems like these are used in a very large variety of 60s-70s and 80's GMs

8750275 is listed as an "emergency" "Screw" as well as "Bolt" in my 86 Olds parts book. Not sure what that was supposed to mean, but it's not even a metric bolt. I'm not real sure about this one.

This is from the May, 1980 Olds parts manual showing the dimension of the bolt of 5/16"x18 x 1.125". Note that it is not metric. Several sources has this bolt, but usually it's labeled for the older A-bodies. But just looking at the listings and you could get confused. The Jan 72 shows an earlier bolt p/n of 7667647.

You're probably looking at the same book I am. I can't find that screw/bolt on any of the parts diagrams. But yes, labelled as "SCREW, F&R/D EMER HGE". My first instinct was EMER is Emergency as well. But I'm not so sure about that. However I can't think of what else it could stand for

Clips and fasteners is a great resource, I've purchased all sorts of stuff from them.
