Last Edition 1988 Cutlass Classic

Does anyone know the significance of the Last Edition 1988 Cutlass Classic?

I have seen one or two of these cars and wondered if they were special production models with special options.

These were made in 1988 which was the final year for the rear-wheel drive Cutlass Supreme. It was badged Cutlass Supreme Classic, and 27,678 were built with the Olds 307 as the only available engine. The story goes that the last 1,000 off the assembly line received the "Last Edition" badging.
