Usually (on Olds engines) the PCV is on the passenger side and the Crankcase Breather is on the drivers side. If you're not using the CC breather that goes to the air cleaner, it won't matter. All factory style valve covers are the same (same center hole) for both sides, unless you're going after market.

It doesn't matter which side the pcv is located as long as it can get into the upper chamber and filtered air can get into the engine, preferably on the opposite side of the PCV to ensure better venting flowpath of both valve covers and crankcase.

To wit: all 69 H/O and 70-72 W-30 cars (and I believe '72 4 speed cars), which all had 455s, had the PCV coming off the intake and it laid on its side using a rubber elbow. Used TWO crankcase breathers on the valve covers piped to the back of the air cleaner for an air supply.
