Hello, can someone please tell me what the thread/size of the bolts that hold the A/C box to the firewall? I have none to compare to and it doesn't match any other bolts I have. 1978 Malibu.

If it's the ones I'm thinking they are very close to a sheet metal screw type thread.
They are a fairly coarse thread, I'm just not sure what exactly. I keep seeing M6 being thrown about, but no confirmation on the thread.

The mention of the possibility they may have a sheet metal screw thread was very helpful.
It's this:

I'm still not sure what it is, I'm going to go to the hardware store and grab some longer ones the same size as this. I'll update if I figure out exactly what it is, for future folks searching for this info.

Didn't find the size right off the bat but here's the GM p/n & it's a current item, 499558. This number came out of the '79 Cutlass assembly line manual.
A pic for one.

Looks like a 14 x 1.5 sheet metal screw works great. I got a bunch of these and they thread right in.
