No you don't, my Suburban had barn doors and I'd have done anything for a drop down tailgate and lift glass. I found the barn doors to be really awkward.

I guess its what you use it for. I have been looking for a 4x4 barn door 'burban for a few years now to replace my AWD Safari Van.
As I pick up palletized supplies and use my van / truck for work I find that tailgates and lift glass get damaged by forklift operators much easier than barn doors do. I will admit though the lift glass is handy when its raining or snowing. 11 years with Dutch Doors on the van and they are a decent mix but I would much prefer barn doors

A 6060/T56 magnum shifts a lot better. It actually goes into gear at 6800 RPM. The difference in feel is a M82 feels like you are pushing large, hard, rubber balls out of the way when you shift, while the 6060/T56 Magnum just goes into gear.. like its a Miata transmissions shifter, only the trans can take 700 lbft of torque..

Some of it is the remote shifter, but all of it isn't.

I happen to have the upgraded Barton Industries Short Shifter but even with the original shifter, I actually thought shifting gears worked just fine.. It feels like it just clicks into gear and no problems whatsoever. Also being a DD, I don't plan on any engine/driveline upgrades so the 'stoutness' of the M82 should work just fine for my application.

I'm also just a basic car guy and you are a professional race car driver (from reading your posts) compared to me, so that could also be the difference in opinion.

I really want to, but it's turning out to be the unicorn/holy grail/needle-in-a-haystack piece.

The hunt is part of the fun!
Took me over 3 years of pretty diligent searching to finally get an NOS header panel emblem...
I'll let you know when I hit the yard in the spring, I should be able to get some moldings for you.

My daily driver is this '96 Roadmaster, currently wearing it's snow-shoes(tires)!
The first car I've had that has been heavy enough by itself that I don't need to put any sand bags in the back! lol

Nice. Probably my favorite B-Body. LT1 makes it interesting. What’s always puzzled me is why GM went from the full 6-gauge cluster with the weak 180-hp TBI engine, and then put in the 3-gauge dummy cluster with the LT1? I wonder how many guys with the LT1 have swapped back the 6-gauge cluster. Is it possible?

Eh, it's not a hot-rod, so it does what I need it to do...
I don't think it'd be possible since the shape of the dash changed along with the cluster.
The Z28 cluster is a popular swap with the Caprice/Impalas...
Put one in my old Caprice when the digital speedo went out.

2002 Chevy Cavalier Z24, complete with the common rust package. Its been a great car. I've put about 35,000 miles on it since I've owned it, it hasn't let me down. Unfortunately the rust is terminal, and I'll be in the market for something pretty soon. Its a shame, the car drives so well and is actually kinda fun to drive.

I'm hoping I can find a 97-08 Pontiac Grand Prix (Comp G, GTP or GXP) as its replacement.

Nice shop! I'm on 2 Chief impulse frame machines with a velocity all day long

Oh nice truck to

Thanks!
The shop belongs to my brother. I find myself working on the little ChassisLiner in the corner next to the Chief most of the time. The two racks share a Velocity.
