17x8 BMW 540i E39 type 37 wheels on 1.5" hubcentric spacers/adaptors, with 245/40-17 Michelin PIlot Primacy tires.

They fit pretty good, but the rears will be close to the wheel lip, may need to roll the inside edge a bit. I won't know this until the ride height is corrected, still sitting high. That being said, I can run the wheels lock-to-lock without rubbing, and the combination of these wheels with the thick adaptors allows for lots of room to clear C5 brakes.

Here are a couple pictures to show fit. Yes, the car will be lowered . . . a lot.

Monte boy- Where did you find your hubcentric spacers? I have a set of rims and tires from an e-24 6 series and I was wondering how much work it would take to make them fit. I'm guessing all bmw rims are hubcentric?

Does anyone know of a place to find a list of all OEM wheels that will fit without any spacers or mods on a g-body? I know 3rd Gen Fbodys work, as well as some s-10 wheels. Will anything older?

BMW wheels don't fit the G body properly. The BMW wheel studs are 5 x 12.0.....G body's wheel studs are 5 x 12.8. When you torque the wheel nuts the wheel stud will be stressed...

an adapter plate I guess if they make one, there are so many wheels out there that fit a 4.75 for me it's not worth the trouble to make a wheel fit...
