I am looking at installing a coil over kit in the front of my 83 Buick Regal. I am wondering if anyone has had any good or bad things to say about it? If I do put one in what spring rate should I get ...350 or 450?

I noticed nobody replied to your post. I was looking at the same kit probably from Spohn.net. I'm talking about the 18 way single adjustable set.

i put one on my 86 regal. i called qa1 and they said if you use a small block use the 350 spring and if you have a bb use the 450 spring. they install pretty easily. i have not put my big block in yet, so i don't now how it's going to set, but theres plenty of adjustment.

Hey boblem, I know this has nothing to do with the question you asked but judging from the pic in your avatar you will benefit WAAY more from an anti-roll bar than front coilovers....LOL

Seriously though.... I've seen a few cars with the front coilovers and it is a sweet setup. I'd like to have a set myself but they are just not in the budget right now. And like someone else stated, go with the 350's if you are running a small block.

If you want something more for handling, go with the 550 springs.

What rear spring rate would you suggest for handling? My car has a big block and a 7.5 with a posi unit in it?

I have been running the coil over system with BMR upper and lower control arms for 7 years I used the big block springs.
The reason I went with them is I wanted the car to handle and I have big front mount intercooler. If your not going to go with a high performance tire, I'd go with the small block spring if you are looking for a softer ride.

Kind of depends on the rest of your suspension setup but you'd likely want something in the 150-160lb/in range to match a front spring rate in the 500-600 range.
