my 86 cutlass has stock 307 engine and it has the 4 belts (alt. p/s, ac, smog pump crank & water pump belts) i would like to get rid of all of my old pulleys and belt system and just replace all the pulleys so i can just have one serpentine belt to deal with ... now my question is from what car can i remove all the pulley and tensioner so they can all line up with all of my stuff alternator, power steering etc..... i want to go to the junk yard and remove from another gm car. i know the camaro irocs have em but am not completely sure what exact car can i remove and bolt right up to my cutlass any help would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any factory GM vehicles that ran an Olds engine with a serpentine belt drive system. The photo that's in your post is a photo of a small block Chev with a serpentine belt drive system. There may be an aftermarket serpentine system available. Perhaps one of the other members here can help you.

Would any of the Buick V6 stuff bolt up?

I run a homemade serpentine setup on my Pontiac 400. I hate v-belts. It can be done with a little creativity and trial and error.

I pieced this together while the engine was on the stand, which made it easier. The crank pulley came off of a 5 liter Ford engine. I enlarged the center opening slightly with a dremel to make in fit on the Pontiac damper. I also had to drill four new bolt holes. The water pump pulley came from an aftermarket March kit, I got it on ebay for under 5 bucks I think. The alternator pulley is a standard GM piece, just one bolt holding it on. The power steering pulley is a late 80's F-body piece, if I recall I bought it at Autozone and it pressed on to the stock pump shaft of my 79. There is no tensioner, the adjustment to keep the belt tight is at the alternator.

I've since switched to a 90's 140 amp alternator and now keep everything adjusted using a turnbuckle bolt connected to the back of the alternator. I don't really have a pic that shows it well, though.

I used spacers and washers where needed to get all the pulleys to line up properly. I think I used a small fan spacer behind the water pump pulley, with longer bolts. It isn't the prettiest setup but I've been running it for years with no issues and no belt noise.

Hope this helps!

I used a 95 sbc 350 truck set up on my Olds but ran into problems. The driver's side two bolts line up but the bottom attachment point needs to be removed. The biggest problem is the passenger side, only ONE bolt lines up with the head. You need a custom bracket to go behind(needs spaced out anyways) that would allow at least two points attached to the bracket AND to the head. If you use the RWD Olds 4.3 V6 diesel water pump that is reverse rotation, the water pump pulley WILL bolt right on. The bottom pulley needs ground down to clear the top pulley. The bottom pulley also needs a much larger center hole and Olds bolt pattern drilled. Yes, Olds belt set up is far from simple.
