Tried to charge the ac on the k1500, broke the connector on the compressor coil, so I'm gonna go to a local yard this weekend and nab a compressor for parts. If it's cheap.

Recently used seam sealer to seal the windshield on the k1500, then a week later got a ****in rock chip.
At least it's on the passenger side.

After the gym, decided to take a bit of a drive since its supposed to rain all the rest of the week. Ended up taking some pics while I was out
Got tired of the hazy yellow headlights on the Xtreme. Hit it with a cheap and easy headlight restoration kit.
Few more small things to take care of on this thing. Fresh decals, front airdam split. And and oil change and replace a leaky oil cooler line.
Oh yeah and a good bath.

Got a coat of stain on the new trailer. Rained before a 2nd coat could go down. Need to sneak a brush down between the boards on that 2nd coat as well.
Lacrosse got some front suspension work done yesterday. I took the car for inspection last week and they found the front right strut was rotting out. They still stickered it for me, but it definitely needed addressed. The control arms were also really crusty and I wanted to replace them and the sway bar kit is an upgrade that Dorman sells, it's 1/4 inch bigger and solid vs. hollow.

The shocks themselves would've been an easy job, but in combination with everything else, it was a bit of a pain. The outer tie rod ends were a casualty, so those got replaced. I'm gonna drop it off for an alignment later today.

Today I made a discovery. It came to me as it was mentioned recently that, when the ABS on a GMT400 goes inop it jacks up the rear bias. Well the ABS has been inop since day 1 on my 97 dually and those semi-metallic rear shoes have been downright evil since they bedded in. Great when I'm loaded, terrible when empty. Well last December when I put some Raybestos Element3 hybrid pads in the thing I also swapped out a bum wheel speed sensor since I was in there. Last month when I had it out the front pads were clearly overly stressed. I found this odd as the pads that came out were unknown not bitey junk. Today I was all loaded up with camper and trailer, draining RV tanks and decided to yank the fuse to tank the ABS again. Immediate improvement. I second guessed myself for 1 maybe 2 brake applications. No, this is dramatically better. So the way ahead will be no ABS when loaded and yes ABS when empty. Thing was downright evil on anything but the gentlest of stops when empty. I want to nerd out though and use some kind of factory switch for it instead of an aftermarket toggle switch.

Weather sucked today for the most part so ran the rad out to the radiator shop and then declared a defacto day off. Did manage to drive around half of the new steel T-bar fence posts down beside the existing wooden ones in the veggie garden enclosure in the last few days; they are 7 feet long and 4 feet of that goes in the ground to keep them from heaving due to winter frost. I still have one on the welding bench waiting to be finish welded as it has to be a shorter length to avoid penetrating the service trench that intersects the garden at about 2.5 feet below grade. I also may have to alter the mounting tabs on one of the others to get it to pick up its designated post more precisely.
Also got an unexpected call from a cousin who's kid is running a modified at the local track. Turns out that his new ride was in need of some shade tree welding and none of them could get past bubblegum grade. All it was, was a bunch of tacks to get the rear crash bar fitted together to where it could go to the shop for finish welding. Gas-MIG is wasted outdoors and what they had for the job was a micro-shoebox LIncoln 110 unit which is only about good for doing tack work. Not to say that it didn't perform acceptably, only that it was not heavy enough to do production welding at the level needed to generate passes that would shrug off getting smacked by another car during a race. The biggest problem is fine tuning the wire speed and heat ranges. Basically the rheostats move from fixed position to fixed position with no ability to land somewhere between them so as to be able to customize the set up. Still it was interesting and a diversion from my usual post supper exercise which typically involves falling asleep in the comfy chair until bed time.

Pretty much. Did all the rear suspension late last year and now all the front suspension is done. Exhaust is still decent although a junkyard dual exit setup from a CXS would be cool.
