Im just about finished with all the little things that have to be done to the wagon. Today Im making a vacuum line for the transmission and redoing a couple of wires that I decided to reroute.
Maybe in a few days I can finally get this thing started.
There is one issue thats still staring at me every time I look at the car. Tires and wheels. After the last thread I put on here it seems like my plan to put a nice set of 5 spokes and some low profile tires on the car wont work out because of the 2" drop. I dont really want to stick the rally wheels back on. I had two of the tires taken off (one front, one rear) and the wheels sandblasted. Epoxy primed them and painted them with rally wheel argent. They look good but I tossed the old tires thinking I was going for a full new set no matter what. So now I only have a single rear and a single front. At this point Im thinking the 205 60s will look pretty poor on an AR TT. So my options are two. Keep the rally wheels and buy the same size tires that were on the car when I bought it and live with the look. The other option is to pull the springs and dropped spindles out and throw a regular OEM setup back in. I can get the spindles easy enough from either yard I deal with. Theres a few Cutlasses and a Monte I can pick from.
What do you guys think I should do ? I honestly didnt think this would even be an issue seeing all the dropped cars rolling around on custom wheels.

I don't understand what you're asking. A 2" drop shouldn't affect wheel and tire choice much as long as the overall diameter is 26" or less. I can't stand AR TT2s and not a huge fan of Rallys, so I'll not comment there.

Another question to ask yourself...do you WANT to bring it to stock height again? Or are you wanting to keep your 2" drop? Answer that question and you'll have your path.

I'm not into the dropped look myself, so I don't have to worry about the drawbacks, but with every mod comes with its own set of new problems/limitations. Unless you're tubbing it or somehow making more clearance, you are going to be somewhat limited in options leaving it as is. JMO

From my last thread about tire and wheels.

The wagon is the first dropped car Ive owned. Im going to call the previous owner today to see exactly what he did to the suspension. Im not sure of he changed the springs and spindles together or just did spindles. I do know both inners were worn through in a couple of spots and I dont want to change them if it happens again.

Maybe you could find someone with a similar size wheel/tire combo and you could test fit it? Or, I saw a Finnegan's garage where a mobile tire service came out, used the mock up tool with a tire mounted on it to test fit the size he wanted because it was an expensive set of Forgelines. I think they checked it lowered and at ride height to make sure it cleared the fenders

Does your wagon sit lower than this? I had vette rally’s all around but they rubbed when I lowered it. Now I have 15x7 FW code rally’s in front and they no longer rub.

This is how I bought it. At that time both inners had damage from tires rubbing through. I bought it with 205 60 15s on 6" rally wheels in the front and 235s on the back on 7" rallys.
I picked up a set of stock spindles out of an 86 Regal at the yard this morning. To be honest I dont really want to change them but at this point I think its the only way I can go to get the tires and rims that I want. Sucks but it could be worse.

Looks like it sits about the same as mine. I have Hotchkis springs in mine so maybe that’s why it doesn’t rub. I have the same size tire on the front but a 7” wide wheel.
Edit: I do get a slight rub on the sway bar at full lock. I have blazer spindles to put on at some point that should take care of that.
Edit 2: I just checked and I’m running 215/65r15’s on the front
