Anyone else find and bought one recently? I had to have my existing trunk lock drilled out by a locksmith. All I need is a new cylinder to replace that and have it keyed to my existing key.

I checked Anazon, ebay, etc and all I see are ones with keys and nothing listed as "uncoded".

Has anyone else purchased one recently and where did you get it? Thanks.

Thanks 69HurstOlds.
My search terms were only uncoded trunk lock and I was not getting much luck with that. Thanks again.

Basically, the 78-88 Cutlass trunk lock is the same p/n. Wagons notwithstanding, of course.

OK thanks to 69HurstOlds, I did get the lock cylinder. While waiting to get someone to work on it, the drilled out cylinder broke even more. I was able to pull the pin and then use a screw driver in the slot to open the trunk. (It sucks because I drove 3.5 hours North to go to a concert and go camping afterwards, but could not open the damn trunk and had to drive back the same day last night).

Follow up question, I noticed the pin has a slight curve to the right. Not sure if that is 'normal'. Nonetheless, what is this formerly called? The F body's are longer and I can't find it in the 1978 manuals what they are called?

In short, I need another one just in case this one is damaged. I don't want to bring it in and find out that it is bent.

Thanks.

does anyone actually re-key locks anymore ? We have 3x Fjords at work. Local locksmith ( probably 30 ) said they can't do it. His dad was great but passed a couple years ago and his son took over. Other locksmith said they can re-key the ignition to match the key but not the doors

Been broken in to a couple times so we have multiple keys for each vehicle now ( doors don't match ignition ).

At home I have 1 key for the house, shed, side and back door. Same at work I have it keyed same front and back doors. Would love to use 1 key to open doors and ignition on all 3 trucks

I have a local Chevy stealership that still has a guy who can & still knows how to read lock codes to do it with out a key. Think the one locksmith might be able to but haven't had a lock to challenge hime with.

Since we are talking about locks.

Are the door lock cylinders the same as the trunk? Or is the trunk a one of a kind?

I personally never looked, so I do not know.
