For gbody chassis of course.... particularly for my 1979 malibu.
Anyone know of any that are a direct fit or install with little modification... i'd like to get the ceramic coated type, but if i had to ding and ping it, the finish in those areas would be disaterous, or just touch it up with some high temp silver paint. 😉
My plans are to get a sbc 383 crate engine as a replacement for my ZZ4... im currently getting quite a bit of silver and gold bearing material in the old oil and some forbiden fine silver gliter from the oil filter when poured out, but luckily, the engine along with the transmission is still running well IMO, no smoking or knocking, just slight pinging off and on, even with 93/10% ethenol gas.
No history on the driveline(ZZ4/700R4), so i cant say how old everything is... figure worst comes to worst, if i cant find a decent set of headers, i'll just have the ZZ4 short block part rebuilt(.030 over) with flat top 2valve releif pistons and ARP hardware through out and use better flowing 64cc aluminum heads(AFR 195cc) and a slightly more aggresive camshaft over the stock(208/221 - .474/.510) installed one to keep my power brakes and i'll just reuse my 1 5/8" rusty looking ceramic coated headers and keep the dual 2 1/2" exhaust alone, get the 700R4 rebuilt with upgraded internals with a possible 2400rpm stall converter and definately keep the 3.73 posi out back.
I have no idea of the brand my current headers are... same look and design as shown in the link, they fit perfectly in my car w/o issue, i only wish a 1 3/4" exact design was available.
