Is the converter proprietary as well? Should I just scrap it?yes its a Camaro V6 transmission useless if you try to use it with anything else but that engine
sell it don't waste your time with even learning anything on it. depending on what your going to do weather its grocery shopping or to the track get a th400 or 4L80E and be done with it for good. i would practice on them transmissions if you have any intentions on building a transmissionIs the converter proprietary as well? thats a good spot for it at the curbA buddy found it and we dont know the history on it other than it was put to the curb.
I'm going to tear in to it probably. Get $30 or so for it scrapthats a good spot for it at the curb![]()
I'm not interested in practicing lol. I decided long ago that transmission are better left for transmission guys. I would like to tear it down though for scrap because I doubt anybody round here wants the parts and too heavy to ship. My buddy at trans shop doesn't even buy cases or parts anymore to keep on hand, just sources them as needed.Waste of money to scrap it. It is V6 will also mate to iron duke 2.5 from the S-10. If you never built or repaired a trans before, it's a good one to practice on. If you don't want it and no one asking for one... Best is to gut it, separate the parts and sell the parts.
Believe it or not, you can even sell the shifter link for about 20.00. Everything inside is salable, front clutch housing, sun shell, planetaries, one way clutches, case with valve body, or valve body with out case..., etc.
i always keep few cores of each th400 and 4L80E and just build them as i need.I'm not interested in practicing lol. I decided long ago that transmission are better left for transmission guys.
