Those are gold around these parts
The TH400 not so much, the 2wd 4L80E are a different story. Rare, basically only in vans up here. Their is a guy asking $1500 for one with a reman sticker on it. Still unknown, what shape it actually in, who knows. Any 4L60E unless it comes with a warranty, should be a $50 core IMHO.

Several who tubes on this.

Basically needs the TCU, various price points from about 900 on down. You can make it manual shift. I'm looking at doing that with one I have, just haven't done it yet.

It would be nice to get a core for 50. Around here 150 or so, get on Craig's List and you can get burnt out or broken junk for a 1000 or so.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Just thinking toward the future.

Things change all the time and 700R and 2004R getting harder to find. A few years back I was looking at 4L60E behind a 305 in an S10 and Summit had the TCU but was about 950 or so. I ended up with TH350C found it was good enough.

Edit: I was looking for a 2004R or 700R, but all I had was a 4L60E which needs the electronic control.

Btw, how much crap is involved in putting a 4l80e behind a 1st gen carb'd sbc?
many ways it can be done but all depends in what you want to do. all of them aren't so bad to do. i think the hardest part if your doing a cruiser is to accommodate the position sensor to the carb.
