CVF: BUYER BEWARE

I'm a supporting member as well, just trying to get the details of your situation. I asked about the hoses because there's a lot of AN stuff that's not rated for that use.hopefully you can get this squared away.
I purchase an all inclusive kit that after several apologies for sending the wrong parts and sending “corrected” AN fittings still does not run without popping and loosing power steering fluid. This isn’t complicated. If the parts they send aren’t rated, correct or sufficient, that is clearly on them in my estimation.

Looks like your hoses are backwards as well

Alright, I'll say it.
You're being a dick. We get you're angry, but no one here did this to you. We're trying to help and disgnose an issue over the internet and you're lashing out at everyone.
If it has taken 8 months for a "high dollar" shop to diagnose something that looks to be a simple fluid leak, you may need to cut your losses and figure the issue out yourself, less they charge you more money.

As always, the type to throw the rocks and hide the hand! I came peacefully, to share my experiences and I was instantly met with NEGATIVITY, condescension, and critique for sharing MY experiences. This was not a post to diagnose my issue…which is why I know you guys are jaded with bad intentions. When I originally reached out months ago asking for eyes to give me feedback, only one or two guys offered brief thoughts. But now that I’ve offered my final thoughts on my buying experience, everyone wants to mob out and trash my project, my mechanics and try to offer your back handed critiques.

Half the team at CVF has apologized for the f*** up and sending wrong parts except one guy, but everyone here is coming to their defense. Clowns. I’m not upset because my project will be ok and my project in its current state is better than most of the sh*t boxes on this forum. At the end of the day, your kind mobs out, dodges accountability and your hearts are rotten.

Outside of one or maybe two names, I don’t even recognize most of the screen names who are responding which reminds me that the climate has changed. Back when I was active here, there were a LOT of humble decent men who would politic, guide and share experiences and pitfalls with you. This new group ain’t my kind. How in the hell you attack my post for sharing that I caught hell from a company’s serpentine belt kit and that my hoses and fittings were wrong and I had to look elsewhere for better fittings, etc. Geez. Don’t change the topic either,…just go back and look at my opening message last night…THEN go back to months ago on a different thread I started when hardly nobody offered any advice except one or two when I was was actually asking for help. Most of you are boot lickers and followers. I have the direct phone numbers to the real mechanics and enthusiasts in this forum and going forward, I’ll gate-keep and only post pics to make you more jealous.
Love me or hate me, I have a long, quality, “high dollar” build lol….and when it comes to 1978-1980 Cutlass, I have a lot information and insight that was a benefit to this forum. Take care gentlemen. I’ll let the new generation colonize this group.

I'm sympathetic to your situation, sounds like you're going through the right channels via the company and there's a little action there that's great,i hope there's a meaning to an ends for you-we've all been there in one way or another and it's frustrating as hell but..reallly dude?

His hoses are on right for a Type 2 pump.

I’m just going to drop this link here for pre-made hoses. I understand if you don’t want to spend any more money on it, but I’d stop asking CVF for help if they can’t get a simple hose correct.

There’s more than -8 there, it’s just what I have saved.

IIRC they don't send fully assembled hoses due to all the variables that are out there..

I've blown hose fittings off before, mainly because I didn't assemble the hose right.

IDK what pressure rating the Type 2 pump he has has, I know they can be cranked to upwards of 1600psi, generally they're around 900-1000psi.. which is right about the limit of most -6 braided hose. Personally I have a 3000psi hydraulic hose made as seen in the picture.. that blows there are bigger problems.

Between plumbing the pressure line into the return port of the steering box, and possibly not assembling the hose, correctly... I'd probably have a similar position of CVF... as that would 100% be end user/installer's fault and not the vendor's fault.

At a minimum the OP plumbed the power steering system WRONG.
Did he assemble the hose incorrectly? IDK depends who assembled those hose.

Remake the hose, can chop the frayed end of and pre-assembled the hose.

Could CVF sent bad stuff? Sure, they are human. Given the pictures posted... I doubt it.
