The Generic Car Show & Cruise Thread (2025 Edition)

Went to a small show at the Ks Star Casino. I posted a few pics to the Spotted thread, here's the rest: IMG_20250503_143942354.jpgIMG_20250503_143535102.jpgIMG_20250503_143449879.jpgIMG_20250503_144218997.jpgIMG_20250503_143415456.jpgIMG_20250503_150709760.jpgIMG_20250503_145811740_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_144250293.jpgIMG_20250503_145940014_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_145958880_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_145323619.jpgIMG_20250503_150845980_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_152703688.jpgIMG_20250503_152330737_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_152232837_HDR.jpgIMG_20250503_165620324.jpgIMG_20250503_165639307.jpgIMG_20250503_163218871.jpgIMG_20250503_160141179.jpg

Copper Colored engine with the identity ? is a nail valve Buick. The layout of the pipes on the headers are one clue, the skinny valve covers are another. This generation of Buick mills got the nickname because of the small heads on the valves. They were a good motor for their generation and in a light bodied rod could surprise a lot of so-called "muscle" cars of the era.

As for that '59 Cushman with the side box, now that would make a great pit bike, or something to scoot around on in one of the big swap meets, maybe Moultrie, or the one in Texas. The box would make a proper stash for parts scores or for a couple of cold wobbly pops. The price is not bad.......wonder how original it is? Only deal killers are that it is way too far away for a day trip or excursion and I am maxxed out for accommodation space.

I get the dig, though my personal humor is notable for its absence. Just wish the location had been closer.

no dig, I know you like bikes/scooters like that! as for Pate, no scooter riding allowed during swap hours. you either walk or you ride an electric scooter like below. I've thought about renting one of those as just to cover Pate is 2 solid days of walking. the scooters allow you to sit whenever, and since they're full height they let you easily stand up from that position.

I noticed the Buick pipe layout also and had never seen this one before, just like the Packard Thunderbolt. never saw one before that one.

driving the limo that night, saw a few more cars during the evening cruise on South Congress. do you know how hard it is to take pictures while driving in cruising traffic at 20mph!

grabbed my phone, dropped it, trying to get Camera app.....dammit!...it already pulled past me at the stop light and headed away. ended up taking the picture from the drivers side mirror 😡

It’s been a pretty crappy week. Last night‘s big cruise night got rained out. When I left my house earlier today it was sunny. I drove 20 minutes north to another cruise night that’s usually pretty packed and it was almost empty. Walked halfway through and started getting real cloudy and everybody started to leave. Oh well, there’s gonna be a lot more. The season is just really starting. These are some ofthe brave souls that stuck around for a little while. I’m not a huge fan of Land Rovers but that blue one is a 90 and the interior was absolutely gorgeous.

Was watching one of the early 2025 swap meet videos and the commentator noted that for next year the scooters would no longer be allowed to tow trailers. Wonder how the buyers are going to deal with having to move body metal or drive train components, or even an entire project vehicle without some way to handle it. Maybe put in back lanes in between the rows for vehicles to come and go to pick up the large stuff. Vendors won't like losing sales because the buyer can't wait for the end of the day to score their pick. Maybe somebody with a hay wagon and an old tractor doing a pick up and deliver to the gate?

As for that triple blower stacked 58 Chevvie, I knew I had seen it somewhere, and the video is one of Dave Newbern's from his You Tube Channel, "12 Volt Dave". The video is titled "Battle in 'Bama" and Cotton blows it up, which is a reference to that Disco Pink Mirada that Mike? Cotton bought from the Motor Trend Fleet around about the time that Motor Trend cut its video publishing throat. A lot of the project cars did manage to make it into the hands of some of the hosts so they can live on; better than being sold for salvage or squashed F********* California smog b*****s*****. Anyhow, the Chev was actually on the conservative side as there were a few far more outrageous examples of engineering excessivity on hand as well.
