Why not use a box from a Grand Cherokee 98+. I have it on both my 71 442 and the 87 Turbo. They are easy to find and install.- 442Classic

Did you check the brake pedal and the switch? Check all the functions that unlock the converter. Pickup another ECU and give it a try.- 442Classic

Mark VIII fan hook up
Check out Capers Electronics for a wiring harness. A relay or a set of relays will be needed. Plus something will need to command the fans too come on such as a temp switch.- 442Classic

1981 Buick Regal 4.3 V8 swap options
My vote is for either swap is to get a high compression Buick/Pontiac 350 with a 2004R out of a GN or Monte Carlo SS. Or just buy the transmission from Lonnie at Extreme Automatics.- 442Classic
