    hood clearance

Spread some grease on the underside of the hood and close it gently until it makes contact. Then open the hood and find the grease on the component the hood is making contact with. Grab a 5 lb sledge and beat it in until the hood will close. Problem solved.

83 olds cutlass 307 picking out carburator

What smog systems are you wanting to get rid of that requires you to ditch the CCC system? Its a reliable system, and you won't gain any power by ditching it. You can get rid of the air pump without removing CCC.

    Saved! 1978 Grand Am

Growing up my parents had a car lot. Around 1988 I was in 4th grade they bought a 1978 in the same color combo only with black interior and moonroof. It was lowered on enkei wheels and white lettered tires. They surprised me at school, picking me up in the bus lane. It was the sharpest car I...

Most common rear end swap for a 87 cutlass supreme

With a 4 speed manual and highway use I wouldn't go any lower than a 3.23 and would probably go with a 3.08 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Spider gears?

Doing this will basically make your rear end a spool, where each wheel is going to turn the same speed all the time. So on the street, you are going to get tire chirp when turning, and in the rain you will be prone to spinning the car out. The welds WILL break at some point as well. Its a cheap...

Sound system ideas. sub or no

I had 3 JL Audio 10W1's in the raised area with no problems. Subs want to face rearward or downward in G-bodies. I think a single 12 would be great. A single 10 may not be deep enough. I also had 4 Kicker 12's facing rearward in the rear of the trunk and hit 142 dB's with a crappy amp. I hope...

Getting Your Foot In The Door In The Auto Industry

I am an engineer for a supplier of Nissan. We stamp and assemble steel frame components. I got my job with a degree in mechanical engineering. I work on the manufacturing side of things, and I can't say its a glamorous job. Being a car guy doesn't really make the job more enjoyable, as my job is...

    Project Sucker-Punch

Many of the engines are built for friends of the show. But they have a stock room full of them as well. They have shown them on at least one episode.

    Project Sucker-Punch

Blake are you sure it was the same wagon? The show is taped in Franklin Tn, and I live in Hendersonville Tn. That car was on a car lot just a mile away from my house for years until the show bought it.

    200r4 questions

^^X2!!! The 2004R is a great transmission, but wasn't designed for high horsepower. So it will fail, just as any other stock transmission will. If you have some serious power, there are a few areas to upgrade for reliability. But the same will be necessary with a TH350 or 700R4.

    85 Cutlass Brougham

Anyone know what happened to this guy? He just dropped off the site. He is still listed as a moderator, but hasn't logged on in over a year. I was a bit addicted to his build thread for a long time, and wish I knew what happened to him.
