    BUILD THREAD Turning Back Time

FYI, on the latch/tumblers, I found the WD-40 lithium spray grease works wonders. When I had my Avalanche a few years ago, the tailgate mechanism was seized solid to the point I was starting to bend the key. I took the latch handle mechanism off and gave it a good soak, and it worked like brand new.

    Operation Lipstick on a Pig

I know it's probably buried somewhere in this thread, but what ratio rear-end do you have right now?

    Operation Lipstick on a Pig

Honestly, 17 isn’t that bad. It’s probably about average for new cars. It’s only “slow” in the context of LS swaps and purpose-built race cars. 🤷‍♂️

LOL. Mine probably does the quarter in about 30 seconds! :ROFLMAO:

    PONTIAC Hi, I don't own a G-Body, don't hurt me.

If you're not in a state that requires it, I'd take it off, personally. I only still have a CCC because I'm in California.

    I need Options.

Labor is probably the highest cost in any build if you’re not DIY-ing it. I don’t know where it is near you, but in California, it’s about $100-110/hour.

    Lm vs Ls swaps

LM engines are essentially “LS” engines. The main difference is that the LM engines are iron block. The LM7 (5.3L) are very common, as they were put in hundreds of thousands of trucks.

    REGAL Slight tick after Seafoam

Now that you mention it, it does seem pretty pronounced on the driver's side. It's actually fairly pronounced even inside the cabin. It's almost like I can hear it coming up through the steering column. Any links to the booster kit would be appreciated. I think I may need a new rear main seal...

Radio actually looks pretty cool, to me. :)

    REGAL Slight tick after Seafoam

Fuel pump is relatively new. Granted, it's probably made-in-China crap from RockAuto, but we replaced it when we went through the fuel system rear-to-front. Now I'm trying to isolate the intermittent stumble. It has new plugs and wires. I'm wondering if the distributor could be on the fritz...

    REGAL Slight tick after Seafoam

Would changing the oil help? I didn’t put any Seafoam in the crankcase, but I’m wondering about blow-by, and if it thinned out the oil. Most the car has been driven since Seafoam is around the block a few times. As long as I can get another 5-7 years out of the engine, I’ll be happy. At most...

    REGAL Slight tick after Seafoam

So I changed the plugs last weekend, and ran some Seafoam aerosol through the carb, and put a can of Seafoam fuel treatment in the tank. The car starts and idles a lot smoother (except for an occasional stumble) but I have noticed a slight tick at idle that I hadn’t noticed before. It’s not...

    231 carb options

I have a 231 2-bbl as well. I think I'm probably going to put a 200-4R and 3.42 or 3.55 rear end in it. From everything I've read and have been told, that will make the biggest difference in performance without major engine changes.
