I have a pretty good understanding of electronics and circuit boards, at least enough to be able to do some testing. I ended up pulling it right out and following the circuit. First 2 diodes in line after the pin were fried, and they were obviously set up as short circuit protection. I couldn't...
Okay okay, not gbody related but close. I'm working on the neighbors 91 s10 and have found there is a short in the main feed to the fuel pump relay and oil pressure sender. Relay and sender unplugged, wire still shorted to ground. ECM unplugged, wire no longer shorted. So I've found that pins...
Any update on this? Would love to see what you chose and how it looks. Just found out that the s10 drop springs I installed aren't the best option for my big block malibu. Riding on the bump stops now which has caused them to move around a little bit...
What they said^^^
Also acts as a failsafe to overheating. If they're mounted at or near the highest point, your fuel freezes and the car stalls before the engine overheats in the event of coolant loss. Not that this was engineered into them, just a byproduct.
Ask me how I know.
That may be true, but at least I can still buy parts for a Chrysler that is 10 years old.
Anyone remember the Lada cars that had an engine tick nobody could figure out? Rumor has it there was a reward (like 50k or something) for anyone that found the problem. I'm not sure it was ever found or...
Depends on your setup. Most electric fans are not recommended for 4 core rads as they work too hard to pull through and can't deliver the CFMs. But they look much cleaner. If you're building something extreme that's gonna go over 7k rpm's often, an electric is likely the safer option than a...
Thanks for all the info. Sounds like my best option is to rebuild the one in it myself, with the upgraded drum. Don't worry, I'll have an experienced transmission tech helping me. Or maybe I'll just yank it out pay him to do it.
This is assuming, of course, that this truck is still available...
So I'm looking at this 2010 sierra 1500 for sale. 4x4, 5.3 flex fuel truck, so it should have a 4L60 as far as I can tell. Ad says the trans is sometimes hesitant and starting to slip.
So worst case this rig needs a transmission. I'm not at all afraid of this job, but what issues might I run...
I see this all the time with 'Bandit' trans-ams. Once saw a 79-81 convertible with a 77-78 nose on it, being sold as a 77 factory original numbers matching "ultra mega rare blah blah blah." Firebirds didn't come in a convertible between 1970 and 1988. It looked well done, and would likely have...
Did you replace it with the one I mentioned? And did you ground the wire coming out of it to a verified good ground?
I'll give you the run down here. A flasher is built to recognize when a light is burnt out. It does this by sensing the electrical load passing through it. LED bulbs require much...
