anyone else buying up parts before tariffs hit?

^^^Can confirm. I got a pair of Moog wheel bearings last year from an ebay seller that I'm 99% sure were knock-offs. Seller swore they were legit but the Moog site said otherwise. I needed to get the car back on the road so I just installed them. They're holding up so far.

It really wants mid 40s? Man, an Olds sure isn't a Chevy.

The "I'm Obsessive With Lawn Tractors" Thread

Well, turns out all 3 needed replaced. The howler on the left was because a previous owner had cross threaded the pulley bolt but it wasn't tight, ruining the shaft. Glad I bought the 3-pack. I drilled for grease fittings and removed the inner seals. Each spindle took almost exactly 100...

The "I'm Obsessive With Lawn Tractors" Thread

Don't think I ever posted in this thread (probably did in Gray Man). I bought a little Bad Boy last spring. It was great all last year. I've mowed the entirety of my 5 acres twice this spring and the left side spindle started to howl on Sunday. I ordered a 3-pack of Chynuh spindles from...

Those GMT400s had truly shameful headlights, especially when old and foggy. Luckily, new replacements are cheap.

There's one on YouTube. I'll probably stick with the Johnson or Evinrude.

Manufacturer says 17', so not very big. Photos for reference. I read somewhere that they only weigh about 600 pounds without the engine. As thin as the hull is, I believe it. But they "sleep two" and have a "bathroom". I guess they had a creative marketing team.

Dorsett progress slowly and tediously continues. I've been working a few hours every weekend. My dad fills in during the week. At this point all the unwanted holes have been addressed. We ground all of the spider cracks, then they were filled with an epoxy to stabilize the gel coat...

After I got done with the Dodge springs and parked it by the house, the starter died. But not before doing this really cool thing where the contacts welded and it kept cranking for about 30 seconds after starting. I ordered a starter that showed up with a broken stud. The seller refunded my...
