I think I have an SKF hub and bearing assembly in my Scion daily driver…..been in there 2 1/2 years with no issues, run about 400 miles a week
vice grip garage in last say 5 yrs did a factory tour thru THE or A bluprint factory. i had seen BP lookig for a new egine for my ss, blown head gasket caught too late cuz of lockdows. it sounded as just a generic rebuild by name and then there was another name that started with an "A" in the summit & jegs sites that were nice priced but knew nothing of the brands. i went on to buy this from pace performance, a TBI truck motor factory GM reman not rebuilt, for $2900ish shipped from OH to garage doing the swap. gm did mag ads this being 1 of the engines "FOR THE TRUCKS THAT DON'T WANNA QUIT". there were/ are 3 for the 87=95' era. i went with this 1 cuz as only 1 with ecetric for mech fuel pump and all 3 had the outs for such unlike back then. which did not do, remove cam & swirly heads, you got a nasty factory short block roller ready..... lolI wonder about these tariffs... a certain engine performance place has a 383 longblock that they consider their "bread and butter" engine that i've been keeping an eye on for when im ready to go that route, and for the past two years when i first found out about them. that price was $6200, then all of a sudden over the span of just TWO months, it jumped to $7100 in price, and its not BP. 👎
All new parts... roller, thicker block, pre clearenced for stroker cranks, priority mains oiling system, head bolt holes that do not enter the water jacket, 4bolt mains, forged crank, forged rods, hyperutectic pistions, their own cam grinds for the power evel you choose, 180cc aluminum heads, aluminum full roller rockers, 2.02/1.60 valves, 4.00 bore with 3.80 stroke, unlike BP's 4.00 bore with 3.75 stroke, 377cid.
Not just Moog and ACDelco. Motorcraft, NGK/NTK, Bosch, Honda/Toyota OEM, Denso, Bilstein… seriously, anything with a recognizable name. The fakes are really good copies too, not good quality, just good at looking like the real thing. I’ve seen knockoff Motorcraft plugs that I couldn’t tell were fake.I’m sure with this being a car community people are aware but I’ll throw it out there. Be careful of counterfeit parts, especially moog and ac delco. My brother runs his own shop and has seen a bunch of counterfeit junk come through over the last year-two years. Moog even has a section on their website on how to detect fake garbage. The counterfeit boxes are pretty darn close though. Just look your stuff over really close.
Just dealt with this. Bought a set of moog S10 front bearings off eBay. They were junk and I’m 99% sure knock offs. Sent them back for a refund and ordered off RockAuto.I’m sure with this being a car community people are aware but I’ll throw it out there. Yeah, those knockoffs really blow it bad for the trust factor. But there's always a tell, somewhere. May not be easy to spot, but it's there, somewhere. And it's really sad that legitimate brand names spend all kinds of money fighting that fight only to have the gubmint not hold up their end of the deal, so China almost always wins. Not just Moog and ACDelco. I've gotten knock off from rock auto before too, so you really don't know what you are getting no matter where you get it...Just dealt with this. Bought a set of moog S10 front bearings off eBay. They were junk and I’m 99% sure knock offs. Sent them back for a refund and ordered off RockAuto.
